SOUTHERN PIEDMONT / LAKE & POND RESTORATION

Get your cove back to the lake it used to be.

We help property owners on Lake Hartwell and Clarks Hill restore shallow coves, improve shoreline access, and clear accumulated sediment through dry dredging and excavation.

DRY DREDGING

The work starts with the land.

When lake levels, site access and approvals permit, dry dredging allows excavation of accumulated material above the waterline. The exposed silt is removed down to the original lake bottom, never below it.

How the process works ↗
COVE RESTORATION / THE BIG PICTUREDRY DREDGING CROSS-SECTION
Dry dredging above a lowered lake waterline A dashed line marks normal full-pool water level. Accumulated silt and the hatched removal area sit entirely above the lowered waterline. The accumulated silt tapers into the original lake bottom before reaching the water. The solid navy original lake bottom is the excavation limit and the finished-bottom contour, descending continuously toward the lake without a depression. Removal never extends below it. Water remains in the deeper lake to the right. WHAT WE DO.

Practical earthwork for the places where land meets water.

Concept image of an exposed, sediment-filled cove

Cove dredging

Silted coves cleared back to their original depth so water returns when the lake rises.

Dock access

Silt removed from under and around your dock so boats can reach the slip again.

Shoreline restoration

Reshaping and grading of the shore once silt is removed, leaving no low spots to hold water.

Spoil haul-off

Every load trucked off-site to an approved disposal location. Priced by the cubic yard.

From first look to finished site.

01

Site visit

We walk the shoreline, measure the silt, and estimate the cubic yards to remove.

02

Corps permit

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues the permit to you as the property owner. Permitting is arranged separately from our dredging contract.

03

Dredge in the dry

With the lake down, crews excavate the silt and truck it off site the same day.

04

Grade and close out

We grade the shore and take the required completion photos for the Corps within 10 days.

The rules we dig by.

Dry only:

No hydraulic or wet dredging. Work happens above the water.

Original contour:

We remove silt down to the original lake bottom and never cut below it.

No standing water:

The finished grade leaves no pockets that trap water.

Off-site disposal:

Spoil goes to an approved site off federal land, never back toward the lake.

Project scope and permitting requirements must be confirmed with the relevant authorities before work begins.

ACTUAL POND PHOTOGRAPHY

Private ponds. Real work.

Private ponds can accumulate sediment, lose usable depth, or develop overgrown edges. We evaluate access, excavation conditions and removed material so the site can be planned correctly.
